01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Daikanyama Candy Apple at Maihama Ikspiari reimagines the nostalgic festival sweet with modern precision. The apples, sourced directly from Aomori Prefecture according to the season, are encased in an exceptionally thin, glass-like sugar shell. It cracks effortlessly on the first bite, unleashing bright acidity and abundant sweet juice.

Flavors Designed to Highlight the Fruit

For a first visit, the plain version lets the fruit's natural aroma and crisp bite take center stage. The shop also serves an exclusive milk tea flavor, combining fragrant black tea notes with a gentle creaminess. Other variations carefully complement the tart apple base, from aromatic Ceylon cinnamon sugar to pure Dutch cocoa and a smooth yogurt-and-white-chocolate coating. Japanese-inspired selections round out the menu, including Uji matcha, fragrant hojicha, and roasted Tanba black soybean kinako.

Freshly Sliced on the Go or Whole to Take Home

For walking around the mall, the pre-cut cup is especially practical. Sliced into bite-sized pieces, it keeps hands clean—a welcome perk when traveling with children—while delivering an ideal ratio of candy shell to fruit. Whole apples taken home slice best after chilling thoroughly in the refrigerator, preserving the satisfying snap and contrast of textures.

Located on the 1nd floor in Ikspiari's The Courtyard, the shop offers a refreshing sweet pause between shopping stops or on the way back from the nearby theme parks.
